Our core values and guiding principles
Keep it simple
Do, think, create and keep only what's most important, everything else is just distraction.
"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler." - Einstein
Good intentions and ideas are fundamental, but acting on them with purpose and a drive for excellence is what will ultimately generate the best possible real-world results.
Play for the long term. Aim to resolve any problems by creating (automated) systems.
Don't allow short-term gain or problems to throw you off track (Micro-Macro Problem).
Trust & be authentic
Value and deliberately build relationships of trust. Value trust, your name and your word.
Don't bullshit yourself and others. Be authentic with your purpose in life, in your communication and actions, etc.
Take full responsibility
Stay clear of victim mentality. Take full responsibility for everything. You play the game, so you have to accept everything that happens in the game, no matter what.
Be a utilitarian
Utilitarianism (slightly altered): The right course of action is the one that will, in the long-term, produce the greatest possible net happiness (felcific calculus) for all beings.
Felicific calculus: A method of working out the sum total of happiness / pleasure and unhappiness / pain produced or caused by an act (= net happiness), and thus the total value of its consequences.
Be a critical thinker
Form your own beliefs and always question them. Be open-minded but beware of dogma. Be a critical thinker.
When making important decisions and forming beliefs, do so consciously and rationally (-> rational beliefs & decisions).
